2010-2019: a decade of growth

The end of a decade.

I don’t really know what to call this closing decade; was it the 10s of the 2000s?

Sounds weird to call it the 10s, don’t you think?

Still, that’s what I shall call it for these remaining hours.

The 10s were an eventful decade for me.

I was still a newlywed at the start of the decade, as well as a newbie blogger, living high running, cycling, and traveling the world.

We had New York, France, Belgium, Berlin.

There was San Francisco x 2 and Sonoma County too.

We travelled to Portland, Seattle, Minnesota, Ontario, Penticton and Victoria.

Most all of which occurred in the first 2-3 years of the decade.

I ran my first marathon in 2010.

Hello Portland!

In 2011, I secretly started back at high school, upgrading all those maths and sciences I didn’t take seriously when journalism was my dream.

I was pregnant at the start of 2012 and a mom to the most beautiful boy by 3/4 of the way through.

Yes, I am totally biased.

2013, I started the count down.

2014, I said goodbye to journalism and hello to post-secondary.

2015, ’16, ’17, ’18, and ’19: it was all about the learning, learning, learning… and about being a Global Hero!

And now, here we are.

I started this decade with questions about my journalism career, which led me towards a dietetics education.

As we finish this decade, I’ve nearly finished my dietetics degree

By the end of 2020, I will be a registered dietitian.

And that’s pretty freaking cool!

Happy New Year 😀
